Debate Seminar Prepping for Lesson1 (May 10, 10pm)

Alright. I have composed the Action Bucket for this first lesson. Probably, I will turn it into a polished Activity Module later.

I think I have the right progression of actions ...

  • #Action Establish a Rapport and Gauge Proficiency. #Completewhen I have had a brief exchange with each of the students and have pushed each one to challenge him/herself in English.
  • #Action Story listening #Completewhen everybody has taken a stab at telling some portion of he story.
  • #Action Set up tomorrow's debate #Completewhen I am able to elicit from some of the students a statement of gist concerning what the article is about. Exactly how much pre-reading you are going to do depends on the sense you have at this point of the students' proficiency.

I have set up a SmartSheet Form that will make it easy for me to keep track of student performance.
Since it looks like I will not have a lot of leverage due to grading or disciplinary authority, I will simply be using the smart sheet table send regular reports on student performance to my primary points of contact at the school.
